Fun in the Studio...with myself!

Trent was working on the Land Cruiser, my mom was in the shower. I was stuck wanting to learn with no subject to learn on. With no trigger and only a timer I found myself running in front of the camera. I had a great time with myself. My goal was to learn custom white balance which means nothing to some of you I know. For others, how did I do? I feel one step further to the photographer I want to be. I send my love to all.

Fire!

Well, I had an exciting week at work. Tuesday we had a fire in our epoxy shop. My office is in a different building, so when I heard of the news the first thing I did is reach for my camera. I go nowhere without it.

First studio attempt ever!

So, I have taken off work for my birthday today. (It's tomorrow) Trent and I are going to Tulsa to go mountain biking. I got in trouble because he couldn't find me. I was upstairs in the "studio". My grandpa (thank you, Grandpa Walter) gave me this old paper background that he had, so I had to try it out. I just had it on top of the dresser, so working with 3 foot of paper was a little difficult. Trent's new project is to build me a backdrop holder. He doesn't know that yet. So, here is my first studio attempt. More to come.....

The weather outside is frightfull....

My favorite....Trent played with this dog growing up. His friend lived up the road from me. And then we meet so many years later. L.C. comes around every now and then to play fetch with us.


Who knew trees were so flexible. This is one of our baby cyprus.


The bayou is almost iced completely over. We walked down to the bridge and threw chunks of snow/ice into the water. It's good to feel like a kid again.


I thought the reflection was pretty cool.

Our new kitchen!!!

It's a bit of a change from the pink roses we had before.....

I can't find my before picture, but someone not naming any names (see below) took this at the Christmas party. He got a hold of one of my cameras.

The holidays are over.

I've had a few chances to play with my new camera. This is a picture I took while Trent was trying to fix our busted water line. Needless to say I wasn't much help.

My New Love.....

For Christmas my wonderful husband bought me the best toy I have ever had. I absolutely love it. I was trying to explain the noise it made when it took a picture and how gratifying it is. My brother-in-law said that now you can understand when Trent and I fire up an engine.

Because of my new Canon 5D I can finally relate to the excitement of an engine roar.
